Prof. Gülcan Bağçivan

She completed her doctorate in the field of Oncology Nursing at Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA) School of Nursing, Department of Internal Medicine Nursing in 2012. She completed her Master’s degree in Epidemiology in the Public Health Postgraduate Program at Hacettepe University in 2018. Between 2015 and 2017, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Faculty of Nursing and Palliative Care Center, and carried out education and research activities. She takes active roles in working groups within the scope of the Turkish Oncology Nurses Association and European Oncology Nurses Association. Her field of study is Oncology Nursing, she is specialized in the research, symptom management, and palliative care. There are many researches and projects she completed and carries out in these fields with national and international cooperation. She has been a pioneer as the course coordinator in initiating the Basic Level Oncology Nursing Course and continues to conduct this course. She also lectures on subjects specific to her field in other courses conducted within SANERC.

She started to work as a faculty member at Koç University School of Nursing in October 2018 and has been working as the Deputy Dean since September 2019.
