Prof. Sevilay Şenol Çelik

Sevilay Şenol Çelik graduated from Hacettepe University School of Nursing, a Master in Science and received her Ph.D. in nursing, from the Institute of Health Sciences at Hacettepe University, Turkey. Dr. Çelik worked as a nurse at the cardiovascular and thoracic surgery intensive care unit between 1988-1992, and she worked as a faculty member at the Hacettepe University  School of Nursing between 1992- 2018. Çelik has worked as a trainee, visiting lecturer, observe, and researcher in Malta, the United States of America and Poland. She is now working as a faculty member at Koç University, School of Nursing. Her main area of research interest is intensive care nursing, and surgical nursing including thoracic, cardiovascular surgical nursing and urology nursing. In addition, Dr. Çelik is interested in gerontology and geriatric nursing, and has many articles and studies about aging and surgical nursing. She has worked as an educator in the intensive care nursing and clinical guide nurse training courses given to health professionals after graduation at SANERC since 2021. Dr. Çelik has been a member of the SANERC Board of Directors since 2021 and has been the journal editor-in-chief of the Journal of Education and Research in Nursing (JERN) since 2022.
