Assoc. Prof. Tuba ŞENGÜL

Dr. Tuba Şengül completed her Ph.D. in 2016 at Istanbul University Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing in the Department of Nursing Fundamentals. Her areas of expertise include chronic wound management, stoma care, and colorectal surgery. During her doctoral studies 2012, she was a visiting researcher at the University of Sydney and Canberra Medical and Health Research Center. In 2018, she completed her CWON certification from San Jose State University in the United States and worked with faculty members at Washington Hospital in wound and stoma care units. Since 2017, Dr. Şengül has been serving as a content expert in the planning and execution of the ‘Chronic Wound Course’ and the ‘Ministry of Health Approved Wound and Stoma Care Nursing Certificate Programs at SANERC. She also teaches ‘Chronic Wound Care,’ ‘Stoma and Wound Case Management,’ and ‘Advanced Wound Care’ courses within the ‘Track Program’ for Koç University Faculty of Nursing undergraduate students. Her most vital areas include teaching fundamental nursing skills and chronic wound management, with numerous publications using active learning methods. Dr. Şengül integrates artificial intelligence (AI) and simulation into her teaching projects and studies. In 2023 and 2024, she is conducting various research studies on AI-supported programs for preventing pressure injuries in collaboration with the wound care director in Sacramento, California, as part of a visiting scholar program.
